An oversized load is cargo that exceeds a state's legal width, height, length, or weight, so it needs a permit to move. In Arizona, that is commonly anything over 8 feet 6 inches wide or 80,000 pounds GVW, with height and overall length also capped by ADOT — then routing, flags, and often escorts apply.
